September is Cabo San Lucas's highest-risk month by far: the historical record shows 29 storm days recorded since 1985, dramatically more than anywhere else on the calendar, this is genuinely the peak of Eastern Pacific hurricane season for this coast.

The sea holds near its warmest at 87°F, and on the calm stretches between systems conditions are excellent, but this is the one month of the year where storm risk should be the dominant factor in any booking decision.

Not coincidentally, September is also the cheapest month of the year in Cabo, with hotel rates dropping meaningfully below the winter and early-summer baseline to compensate for the risk.
